Welcome from Texas. Despite the big "V" on the tank, mine get's called a Harley by the general public quite a bit. Many will tell you that a Kawasaki is "one of them green crotch rockets". Other than the plastic oil gear, I'm thrilled with my bike. My Harley friends jack with me at times but they tend to lighten up when I let them take her for a spin and they find out I paid a third of what a Heritage Softail cost. Once the house is paid off I'd like to own a HD and maybe an Indian. Keep it safe out there neighbor and good to see you're exercising our second amendment.

Welcome to the forum.
I ride with a few Harleys and they don't carry extra tools and such. They tend to not have room for them in their trucks once they get the bike and gear load in the back of them. Besides, they typically have 3 or 4 credit cards and AAA they can call from their I phone 12. On a serious note, welcome in and hope you enjoy. This is a fun site and lots to learn. All good stuff.

I can't speak for the Harley riders, but not ALL of the Victory riders here are sensitive. I can take a joke...as long as you can take one back....! You will love that 1600 Nomad as many of us have. Welcome...and let the mods begin!

It's all good, sounds like I found the right place and should fit right in..... Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Harley, Kawasaki, Honda, what ever it if you brought it run it. People have been razing each other for years about who has the best... I'm just glad to hear my nuts might get bigger now from my comment, wife is too. :)
Paul... Yes and Yes, and ex for both. Schoeney..... New guy buys but now we have to figure out Bud, Coors, or Four Peaks and we all know how those debates go..... Let's drink on it.

I am new to the V-Twin side of Kawasaki also. I haven't had a Kawi since the 80's...and then I had 3... A 350, 500 & a 750 KH 2-stroke.
In the California canyon roads...WHEEEE!!! My last bike was an 1800cc V-Twin Yamaha Stratoliner. I can definitely see a difference since the Vaquero is a FBW (Fly By Wire), but overall I am happy with my purchase. Having a highway gear, cruise control and a fixed body fairing has been so far a good experience for me. I also love the way the stereo adjusts volume. That way I don't annoy those cagers phone calls Thanks for not going Harley...They are all hype, no real upsell. All the best, and welcome to the forum, Dastardly

Welcome from Northern California
I'm an ex Harley guy and can take the jokes about them I have owned two Ultra Classics in the past and had to sell because of hard times. I'm just glad that I found a good replacement at a price that I can afford now living on a retirement.

Was just busting the OP's chops because of his byline... Not what anyone else said.
Besides, I welcomed him and hoped he felt more manly for his byline... That's all!

You may not need tools and a case of oil for a Harley or a box of Kleenex for the Victorys boys..........but when you decide to come to a rally you'll definitely need a shovel and a pair of waders........ the BS gets pretty deep.
Welcome
