Where do Nomads come from?

Well, at least our bikes are not named the Hayabusa, like Suzuki makes. The Hayabusa was numerically the most important fighter aircraft used by the Japanese Army Air Force during the Pacific War. Most of the Japanese Army's aces established the larger part of their scores while flying this airplane. I like the name "Nomad" much better. BnG

Where do Nomads come from?

That's good to know. I should have known we couldn't buy anything like a Nomad built here in the states for that reasonable of a price. Next time a Harley owner tells you we got cheap bikes, tell
'em it's because our friends the Japanese can build a better bike for a much better price. Sounds simple! I personally kinda like the idea that my bike traveled 12 to15 thousand miles to get here in Mississippi.

Actually, concerning road bikes: the Kawasaki Vulcan 700 was made in Japan until 1985. There was a lapse year, that the vulcan 700 was not built. In 1987, production began in Nebraska on a Vulcan 750, that lasted approximately 2 years and due to quality, the model production was moved back to Japan.

The Nomads have been built in Japan since the first model began.

Here is a defenition of Nomad and I have made some adjustments (in blue),to it;

"Peripatetic Nomads" - are mobile populations, (Bikers), moving among settled populations, (Non-Bikers), offering a trade, (How to enjoy life).

Where do Nomads come from?

Japan, Lincoln, sounds like a lot of confusion. Local dealer just told me today that the Nomads are assembled in Nebraska. Parts are shipped here and assembled here. He claimed that Kaw gets some kind of break on duties when they spend money here on assembly rather than shipping an assembled bike from Japan.

Actually, the nomads shipped to Las Cruses, New Mexico, are in crates unassembled. When I bought mine, it was still in a crate and I had to wait a few days until it was fully assembled.

I seen their warehouse and all their bikes are in crates waiting from assembly.

Where do Nomads come from?

Well maybe they ship them from Japan, into Los Angeles, then down to Mexico, and up to Nebraska! Maybe that is why they call them Nomads!

Asking where man came from might have been simpler.

Where do Nomads come from?

According to the Kawasaki Heavy Industries website motorcycles are now made primarily in Japan at the Akashi Works.

The KMM (Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp. USA) - Lincoln Plant manufactures ATVs, utility vehicles and Jet Skis.

"Tricycle" type motorcycles, small motorcycles called "Solo" and mopeds are manufactured in the Phillipines by the KMPC.

Motorcycles are also manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia.
