I'm sure that it felt a lot closer than it looked.

Two positives can come out of this.

1) You learned to be a bit more careful and allow more room

2) You learned that you didn't panic and lock up the brakes and lay the bike down when confronted with an unpleasant situation

So it ended up being a win/win.

Confession Time!

I'm new to the forum and to my Nomad. My question is. I fillied the tank for the first time yesterday and after filling I had gas coming out of the fuel cap key hole.

Did I put in to much gas or is my cap bad?

One of the first things I noticed in WV, "They have lots of guard rails, and they use them!"
It sure is beautiful there, I really enjoyed the riding.
