WOLO Bad Boy Horn install

A friend of mine bought the bad boy the same time I got my stebel we installed them together his on a Harley and mine on the Nomad you can't tell them apart when you blow the horn the only difference I see is about $20.00 cheaper for the bad boy and y'all are correct the chrome on the stebel sucks.

Mine is mounted on the side of the radiator.

It's saved me three times so far.

Once, the blithering idiot was so spaced out, she ignored me completely as she came over into my lane. Never saw me; never heard the Stebel.

I suppose I could have chased her, dragged her out of the car, and beat the crap out of her, but she looked to be 80 years old so I just cussed her out.

But she didn't hear that either.

:-)

The 1800 Gold Wing horns sound very loud. Sort of like an old Caddy. I don't suppose they are very nice looking since they are under the plastic. Buying them from Mother Honda is probably expensive too. I have a chrome plated plastic WoLo...so far so good.

I purchased high and low "hiway" horns from Advanced Discount Auto Parts. What a difference from the cheesy stock horns. They stated 138dB. Not sure what the OEM horn is but I suspect it is in the neighborhood of "wimpy" dB's.

Anything we can do to save our a$$ is worth it! The horns shown look good!

TC, I was going to say the console around the speedometer is some sort of chrome plated metal but Doc beat me to it. I just had mine off recently and before I took it off I thought it was plastic also.

One thing I can say about the Nomad as opposed to Honda VTX. The Honda used a lot of chrome plated plastic even on engine parts. There was a plate you had to remove to take the spark plugs out and these were plastic. The Nomad seems to use mostly chrome plated metal on all engine parts that I have checked.

For the same bike from Honda and Kawasaki you will pay more for the Honda and they use the much cheaper plasic in lots of their parts. So you are paying more for a cheaper built bike when you buy a Honda. Took me four Honda's to learn this lesson.

Last week a guy on a Harley (nothing against H-D, he just happened to be on one) commented that my bike was too quiet (stock exhaust). I told him my bike could be plenty loud and asked if he wanted a demo. He said "yeah" so I laid on the Stebel horn and he jumped back a couple feet. :) Loud horns save lives! :)
