Rear Wheel Off - UPDATE
The DS and the swing arm service have not a thing in common.. The swing arm service should be done any time a new rear tire goes on.
If the I joint is bad, you really 'need' to 'know it', other wise you need a libral coating of moly grease on any body parts that hit the ground first. As best as I can't tell sitting here in New Hamspter a few miles south of Nawth Cornflake, about 1/2 of all VULCANS with a drive shaft have a fubarred U Joint from the factory! These U Joints are just like any rear wheel drive car I joints.. except a robot can't tell when both planes of travel in a U joint is greased, like a MAN can. The end result is a grease in one plane of travel and AIR is in the other. When a BAD U joint like this leaves the factory, it is a bad deal for the rider. IF that joint seizes like a rock as 60+ MPH the rear end of the bike will come around like grease Bull Snot, and I have no idea how to ride in reverse at that or any other speed. That won't matter anyway, because both the rider, and the bike will be all done forever. Kaw-Head funny story

Rear Wheel Off - UPDATE
;)
I will remember that and you when I do the maintenance Mac. It won't be good if I start laughing when I do that so I will make sure I have that old sheet to catch that pin if I drop it as per your instructions which I have printed out and slid into by Nad shop binder.

Rear Wheel Off - UPDATE
Well being a knuckel dragger in todays society does present it's challanges. Each day i find i must search hard for new ways to impress my woman, which once was just getting things hot with her hair dryier. But has gone well past that wrecking her bed sheets and pillow cases to work on motorcycles.
Passing that using her pantie hose to filter paint, coolant, and other things that seem to need fine filterings. This always leaves her stunned, which is a good thing if yer a knuckel dragger. I find a woman stunned most of the time is easy. I figure if this works for me, it outta work ok for you whipped guys too, and maybe earn a little respect back to the male gender. Our anniversary comes up in may, and i have that all planned too. I am gonna take her camping right here in the bed room and let her set up the one pole tent. I will try to find a sheet maybe 2 that hasn't been used as motorcycle rags, but I am not making any promises.
