Aint Chicken No More

Went on a 100 mile ride yesterday with some HD's, they all commented on how good the bike sounded. One said he liked it better than his, he said he's getting tired of the loud sound, he said it's getting old. I think too that the more I ride the bike after the baffleletomy the sound is getting a richer tone to it. Maybe it just me enjoying the sound more.

I just remember when my boys were little and the wife would put them down for a nap and the neighbor would fire up the lawn mower or something.

I debaffled mine at the same time. It's easy, just don't burn your 1/2" drill up in the process. It's okay, it was an el cheapo $25 drill from Harbor Freight. A DECENT drill and good 1-3/4" hole saw will bore those baffles out in about 20-30 seconds per side.

If I could just chime in here for a second. Is there ever an issue with back pressure or heat when this "baffelectomy" is done? I'm guessing not,..... because there are so many out there that have done this mod. You might have guessed I haven't done mine.......yet. ::)

I think the Goats Bladder has enough restriction for back pressure and you should have less heat with the bafflectomy.

I can say there's no DECREASE in performance by doing this. Sure sounds a lot better, though.

It feels as if mine idles a lot better and it feels as if the performance is better. It could be that it just sounds so great that you feel that the performance is better. So which ever-way it is I like the feel and sound. Besides it all about the ride anyway. Right?

the sound makes it sound faster but it's just the same as normal. Nice stealthy mod that shouldn't get you a ticket.

And as an added bonus, you won't have to listen to that infernal pinging when ya twist the throttle.
