V&H's are on my bike after a lot of research. I thought they were loud so I put an additional baffle in each muffler. The point is, I was able to do that. At the time I purchased my pipes, the Cobra's did not have removable baffles (and I'm not sure they are now). That was very important to me.

My V&H have cracked twice ,but not since I welded a patch on them as was mentioned in a previous posting. They sound great and look great despite the cracking on some of them.

I'm happy with the Cobra true duals I got for my bike. The V&H pipes I heard were too loud, but I don't know if they had the baffles removed. The main thing is to get rid of the goat belly. Whatever you get will relieve a lot of constipation.

I concur. True Duals with the slashcuts turned outward here, and I've never been happier. Of course, I have nothing to compare them to either ;).

I wanted to be different too. I got the Cobra Speedsters. See my baby in the photo? Whatever you get, be sure to get a Power Commander to go with them.

I drilled out my stock pipes and that was nice, but still not enough volume. However, I do kind of like the quiet on the highway. Then came a nice used set of Cobra slashcuts on ebay that I got a great deal on. They could be a little deeper sounding, but I think the volume is just right for me - you can hear it when you want, but it's still quiet most of the time.

I have the V&H Baggers, they have been great. Had the Cobras, when I installed the turbo, the baggers made more power on the dyno, so I switched

If you can find them, Roadhouse Dooleys have a sound like no other pipe out there. Real deep bass that won't have the neighbors calling the cops but you can feel the bass thumping in you back when you decel. I've had them on my 04 1600 Classic and on my Nomad and love them.
Ride safe,
Dano
