New choice of car tire in 195/60R-16 w/pics

I have the mt roads too, and killed the brick in 7,000, while it was late season, so I got another 2,000 before winter and bought the SP 5000 in Spring 08.

There are times when a 6th gear might be handy to drop RPM on the interstate. On occasions I find myself checking to be sure I am not still in 4th. (No tack)

It is about 1 hour to any interstate though, so mostly I don't get into 5th, unless I am plain lazy. There is only one way for me to find out if a 65 series would work and that of course would be to install one.

Since I have 7/32s of tread to wear off, that will be awhile, and maybe the answers will come from here before I get that chance.

Maybe this is in part why my center tread is good? I don't get to go straight very often.

The only flaw I see so far is the typical wear on the left side tread, from the crown on the road.

That is nothing drastic either.

Hey Bull, Cliff started this hairy talk. Lets beat him up..... ::)

Do have to admit, this tire does have a lot of little rubber mold, now what's the word......."things" hanging.....kind of like the infamous Florida hanging chads!!

PS: what's a "blick?"

At 6250 miles my truck tire looks like this

If it wears any faster I'll need a new one at 60,000 miles!

I believe he's using the Continental Vanco-8 185/75/16 eight ply light truck tire. I think Idaho is using the same tire.

It seems though that on Continental's website they no longer list this size tire for the Vanco-8. Bummer.
