The winters down here are beautiful. Sunny and warm just about everyday. I rarely use my car anymore unless I'm driving w someone else. All 3 of my bikes got some fresh amsoil recently but they'll ridden just about daily all winter.

Seems like we've been spoiled here the last couple of winters with warmer weather late into the year. This year it seems like it's gotten colder earlier than I remember in a while. I work out of my truck, so there's no "riding to work" option. In addition, it rained so many weekends this summer that I feel cheated from ride time this year. I could go for a couple of weeks of a good ole Indian Summer right about now!

It was a bit nippy today on the ride to work (45 degrees). Here in middle-to-North Georgia, I've been able to ride year-round for the past couple of years. We don't salt roads...no need for it. If the roads actually do get salted, the weather is way to bad to consider riding. I did have a chance to make sure my heated gloves worked today, as well as my freeze-out liners. All-in-all, a refreshing 1.25 hour ride into work. I probably should have put on my full-face helmet (ears and nose got cold), but when it warms up, my ride home will be worth it.

I'm pretty sure he means freeze out thermals from cycle gear. I use there glove liners, and bottoms along with there balaclava at times. With electric gloves you don't need the glove liners. There products work well, the glove liners split at the seams though. Lucky for me there is one 5 minutes from my house. One thing about cycle gear it's no questions asked with returns.

In cold weather I wear thermal underwear, flannel lined jeans, face wrap, chaps, heated jacket, and heated gloves. I also have the crash bar chaps. Keeps me warm but would rather be in the cage when the weather gets to cold.

I also have a pair flannel lined jeans which works well along with the freeze outs for those colder days. My full face is also great for those colder days. Next year I'm going with a 3/4 for the spring/summer. I might consider the crash bar chaps also once I decide where I want to mount my driving lights.

Second that. It's too danged hot to be working out in the garage in summer, and too nice to be doing it in the winter (riding season).

Had a tough time deciding if I wanted to wear a jacket this morning at 60 degrees. Per usual when it's cool enough I wear the jacket just for safety's sake if nothing else.

What ctrider said. I have the half facemask, gloves, pants, and socks. Mostly just use socks and pants, but on c50 last year, used all. I've never had an issue with my seams.

Not as bad a hemorrhoid as getting it back up the stairs.

I go to first salt, which I find up in the kanc and it makes a real mess but then that forces me to clean the bike real well. My days are numbered sartin. Over winter I need a new rear CT and should get ft brake pads in hand. I guess an oil and filter change are due.

Serviced the swing arm and drive shaft over summer doing a drive shaft boot, and just before that did the ft end greasing the neck bearings and swapping to 20 w fork oil

Maybe i will install the Barnett clutch spring but no slip as of yet. I also did cam chain extenders this past summer.

So far the only fault with oem parts was the horn failed. I assume lack of use as i use it to get a sticker only.

06 1600 35,000 apx now ( probably 32,000 and counting)

The above is WRONG. I meant to say 30,200 OR 30,500. I blame BUSH

62? Most of the riding I do is around 62... The other day coming back from the sea it was in the low 40's.

I wear clothing as long johns, 2 pairs of wool socks and boots with gortex gaiters. Jeans 2 duofold henley shirts a wool dress shirt a wool sweater a down vest and my leather jacket, a hat under my lid and a silk rag around my neck, with gaunlet gloves over my jacket sleeves. I look ready to go to the moon!

I think we run the same CT Mac. I'm curious as to how many miles you managed to get out of it? I'm fast approaching 18,000 and it's showing some signs of wear. Not terrible though. I'm pretty sure I'll get at least 20,000 out of it.

It actually gets cold here in Arizona too. Sometimes I feel like the Saturday Night Live "Leather man" skit but have to say, nothing keeps the wind off your skin like dead cow. I have a descent lined jacket and chaps that work well to the mid 30's. I just wear a good pair of gauntlet gloves, face cover, scarf and pretty much good to go. Crotch area is the only part that gets cold. Think I'm going to order some of the crash bar chaps this winter though and that should help things out some. Girlfriend wants electric grips because her hands get cold. Looking forward to a good winter of riding.

I installed the Dunlops when the brick was deader than a door nail at 9,000 miles. The reality was the brick was dead at 8,000 miles but it was later in Fall and i do slow short rides then and so ran out another 1,000 to make 9.
Now I have 30,500 miles on the bike and am still running that tire which is near to the wear bars but not wearing them yet. But soon they will if i get another 1,000 on before road salt.

(The other day i think I made a typo on some thread here stating 32,000 miles. That is wrong I have 30,500)

So 21,500 about now.Kinda beats what a rear mc tire can do huh?

Never the less that CT has been OFF the bike a few times to GREASE the swing arm, check the U Joint , GREASE the drive shaft and hub splines and the top shock bearings (06 1600) The 1500's don't have top shock bearings and I have no idea about the 1700's.
