bob,

Nice bike, but Black truly is the fastest as explained by Sir Stephen Hawking and the mechanics of black holes, which have some much gravity and speeds that even light can't escape and that is the power of the black nomad. :) Nice try.

Bike looks great. Not going to comment on the fastest color,I ride slow so everyone can see me go by.
Never noticed the ads before but I'll be looking now that you pointed it out.

Your right of course, but knowing that black is the fastest of the stock colors, I of course chose black. But taking into account the unique characteristics of blue, one of the first mods I did was to use stained glass blue on the bottom half of my windshield and my lowers which gives me the best of both worlds. The black bike is pulled through the atmosphere even faster by the blue tinted windshield pulling me through the air. If my wife ever finds the cord to recharge the camera I will get some pictures up.

Dave, Dave, such an awkward position I am in now. Most people regard Stephen Hawking as a brilliant mind that fathoms the to-the-rest-of-us unfathomable wonders of the universe.

Few people know that Hawking is also an accomplished gearhead (Up there with BD and MacMac, I've heard). And that he applies his genius to maximizing the speed of his personal conveyances. I realize that this may shatter your foundational belief about color and speed, but -- very calmly -- consider the color of Sir "Red-Line" Hawking's motorized wheelchair. I included another pic of my Nomad for comparison.

Pay particular attention to his downtubing (where the lighting is best).

Dave, if we ever ride together, trust me, I will keep my Nomad reined in. I wish no ill will or brooding.

Wait, don't be blamin poor BD for knowin me.. I stand alone. As for this other guy "Hawking" I ain't neva' heard of him and if you ask him he will say the same.

Today I went south to look over a job on industrial junk, and wore moon boots to celebrate the landing. Those, with my "Monday Sucks" tee shirt on got me some strange looks, after signing the company log.

I guess I was supposed to dawn fashinable Dockers slacks, a short sleeve button down collar shirt and something of a rope around my neck.

The problem is I don't own any thing like that, and wouldn't be caught dead wearing any of it.

Bob, I don't care what you say about google, I still have this skettii all over the key board!

I would never blame BD for anything. You know what a sensitive fellow he is. If he could just ever come out of that shell and learn to express his opinion once in a while, I'm sure we would all like to know where he stands on various issues.

Besides his top-selling book, "The History of Blue," Hawking explains -- and I try to understand WTF he's talking about -- the origins of the universe, time, etc. It's real light reading. 15-20 minutes tops. ;)

I can tell BD is a Hawking disciple. Notice the color of his cut-offs in his sig pic.

Looks great, first solid color Nomad I have seen. What air intake did you use, I like the looks of the one you have on there, and also need to mod the air intake on mine. If you don't mind, what did you use, and how did you do yours?

Thanks,

Brian

P.S. Mac, what's wrong with ad's for panties??? I am sure you could rig some sweet a** costume out of them, perhaps a 1773 panty snatcher or something?

On Gadget's site, there is a page for a $20 air mod. I used Chuckster's 7" backing plate.

I had to Dremel out a lot more of the bottom of the air filter than the mod shows. I sealed any potential leaks in the filter from the inside with marine grade silicon.

I spray painted the part of the backing plate that shows with the same tinting paint that I used on the windshield.

I installed a TFI at the same time and everything seems to be running great.

Good luck. If you have any questions, I'll try to help.

Your bike does really look sharp. I do like the solid color scheme, and have thought often about making mine solid HD Cobalt blue (I think that color is BEAUTIFUL), and fill in the lines on the saddlebags making them smooth.
