Can I debaffle before putting on fuel processor
Go slow with the hole saw and use plenty of oil. Takes about 5 minutes a side maximum.
How long to get baffles out is the only unknown. A good fitting dowel is key I think. If the hole you drill does not line up with the hole inside the mufffler that the baffle slides into the baffle gets slightly cocked and is hard to get out. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

P.S. WD-40 is not a good cutting oil.

Can I debaffle before putting on fuel processor
Thanks guys for all the help. I have learned more than you can imagine. Bob, I bought the 1 3/4 holesaw today. I bought a 1 1/8 inch dowell and cut it off to about 2 inches. It fits fairly snug in the pipe. I used the holesaw and cut out a piece of 1 by wood and used wood glue to put them together. I am letting it dry overnight and will debaffle tomorrow afternoon. I might post a picture of the piece I made to go in the exhaust if anyone wants to see it.

Can I debaffle before putting on fuel processor
Just received an email from Jammclellan@windstream.net telling me not to debaffle. Said I will lose low end torque. Any comments from you guys?

Well, I suppose that if you put it on a dyno you could maybe tell a difference. When I did mine I could tell no difference.
Unless you plan to drag race it I wouldn't worry about it.

Can I debaffle before putting on fuel processor
Thanks Bob, I plan on doing it tomorrow afternoon after the dowell part I made dries completely. I posted another thread asking about the low end torque loss and got one reply from CactusJack and he stated what I felt that one negative against how many positives. I am sure I will get other replies to the new post. Once again Bob, thanks for your help.

Hmm I thought I had replied to this thread.. Don't see any now..
The timing is such you can de-baffel and will be alright, since it will be a short time to the install of the Cobra unit.
