Agreed, but Durango is much more spendy than Cortez. Cortez is a farming town, Durango is the southern Colorado version of Aspen. The motel we stayed at was great, though.
With the family in tow, we decided to get to Durango. It was spendy, but it was real nice.

You have to remember Scott lives in Chandler AZ.... Cortez was like the Bahamas to him!

Hey now! I live in a nice area. I didn't mind Cortez for a couple of reasons.

1. It's not a big city
2. It wasn't 114 degrees

Cortez isn't even in the mountains!!!!! ::)

If you are going to have a rally in Colorado, you have to be in the mountains.

You also have to be able to ride the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Cortez is too flat... just saying. ;)

Keep going east on 160 and you'll go over Wolf Creek Pass. That's high enough for me.

Wolf Creek, Million Dollar Highway, Moab and several others are really close.

However, after being there 4 times in the last 5 years for work and fun, I would want to go somewhere else.

The mormons I have met are some of the finest people I have known, BUT, it's a bridge too far for me. Nothing personal. I have enough issues with RC and Christianity in general, and it's nothing to do with Christ either. So, any mention of those states is purely for riding purposes.

OK. I've been pretty "Ho Hum" for a few decades while paying attention to my by gone career. But I have to say that the Northern coast of California is some of the best riding area that I can remember.

Okay.....this thing is really in sight now....just over a month to go before we rock Crescent City! I have been busy contacting vendors seeking their sponsorship and have been having pretty damn good luck. We are going to have some GREAT prizes for our fundraiser.... ;) ! If you are still on the fence about coming....it sucks to be you ! Get off the fence and treat yourself to a great time...but let us know if you do . For those who plan to be there...I look forward to either meeting you or seeing you again, depending..... ! Don't forget to read through the details in the link below so you know exactly what to expect....
