The Long Leaf Thread

I seen that this thread has been on the back burner for a couple of years. I figured it would be good for us to catch up on some of our newer obtained cigars that weve aquired for our collections.
I just bought a box of Monte Cristo Joyitas cubans, aready aged three years and I'll try to savour them as long as I can.
I also bought a box of Romeo Y Julieta Cubans in the petit size, these are two year olds so far, and hopefully they will get a little older if I have any willpower left. At the price of these two varities I hope I can stretch them out for a while.
I seen the humi made from an ammo box, Im sure it would work well and I just happen to have some ammo boxes here, chances of finding some spanish cedar are probably slim.
Now, Ive been looking at getting a good humidor since I want to age some of these properly. I have a couple of the plastic humis but they are awkward to get in and out of with the humidifier and hygrometer in there as well.
I have to find some cheaper everyday sticks, so I can save some of the cubans for those special occasions.

I'm registered on Cigarbid.com

they send you emails on certain lots that come up for bid.

I spent probably a grand last year to fill my humidor. Got some fantastic deals on CAO's Montecristo, Arturo Fuentes, Vegas 5's and some others.

I do have 4 boxes of various brands of real Cuban smokes; a friend of mine has dual citizenship and travels down there on family business issues. Keep in mind not all Cuban cigars are good. You have to get them at really well-known high end establishment in Cuba to get the best cigars.

I still looking for a humidor, I think it will be a 100 - 125 count. I seen some on cigarbid that I may try to bid on if I can't find one here locally. Like a lot of things humidors seem to cost a lot more than they should in Canada.
Ive got my cubans in a tupperdor for know so I can wait until I find one I like.
I seen there are some good deals on cigarbid to be had on smokes, I think I may try in the future to get some but I'd have to set up an account in the Us since I don't think they can ship to Canada. I am curious to try a couple of the Acid cigars when I order.
Even the online cigar stores here cant ship out of province to another province. Some of our rules really suck here.

I took a look at the Deadwood Tobacco Co. sight, it looks like a really interesting spot to stop in to someday.
Its amazing what a big industry cigars have become with all different brands and private labels. I think that today there are far more good to high end cigars and the cheap drug store ones seem to be dwindling as guys appreciate the better quality ones.

I took a look, they have some great sales there. I can't believe how much cheaper you can find cigars and accessories online.
If you ever seen the prices of tobacco products here in Ontario you'd cry. A pack of cigarettes here is over $10.00 for the brand names, and around $8.00 for the cheaper ones.

I found a humidor a few days ago that will suit my purpose for a while. I got it from a friend of a friend for $20.00 so I couldn't go wrong. It even came for four cigars that are a little dry but I'll get those back in shape over a few months. It a fifty count humi and hasn't been used in a while so I had to season it for a couple days to get the humidity back in it.
I put my cigars in it yesterday and it holding steady at 70f and
70% rv, cant ask for any better than that.
