500 miles will go fast, but not fast enough...Looks like you'll be going through Craig. I'll be there in November, just not on a motorcycle. Have fun and be careful.

Glad you made it home safely, Jarod. Just out of curiousity (and maybe I missed it), why the long trip? I couldn't even find time to ride more than 1500 miles all year.

Home Sweet Home!
The familiar sights and sounds that make our senses overflow with
memories. To a greeting by our favorite people and the hug and kisses
from a loved one that made being gone so hard. Emotions run wild as
the stories of the trip get confused with, 'How I missed being here with
you'. Almost feeling guilty for having so much fun. Almost...

I did 2000 miles in five days last week. You just have to sit in the saddle and go.

I have had 5 days off in a row exactly 4 times in the past 10 years. The first time was due to surgery and the 2nd was when I was moving. Lately, I haven't even had a full weekend off. Leave work at noon on Friday and go back in early afternoon on Sunday. Rumor has it that they'll be forcing me to work less. I'm sure they'll still expect the same work to be done in 40 hours that's now taking me 60+.

Ha ha ha! Why? Because I can and wanted to. Riding a bike is why most people own them. If you put half the time/money you spend in your experimental mods into riding you could have ridden a LOT more.

1500 miles in a year is less than 5 miles a day. I think I rode further than that on my bicycle as a 10 year old. Why???? Seems like an odd question that someone who actually motorcycles wouldn't ask.

Does that mean you're ready for an Ironbutt?

I did 1246 miles in under 22 hours last year. And that included a job interview and a couple hour nap.

I didn't ask the question clearly. My bad. I didn't know if it was for pleasure or something else. Nice to know you have your bike dialed in well enough to take a trip that long comfortably. I couldn't although I'd like to. I didn't know if you were maybe planning to visit someone and just happened to take the bike.

Not everyone has the time to ride as much as they would like. There are many reasons for this. Consider the Law of Compensation with this. I know guys that put riding above their family time and I have to wonder how they feel about their father never being around because he is riding all the time. On the other hand I have known people that are afraid to ride because of the same consequences. It's best to find a balance for what works best for you and only you know what your highest value is.
