Replacing Wiring Harness on VN1500-fi

I discovered a couple wires in main harness with insulation wore through exposing bare wire and after further inspection, I noticed the insulation is quite brittle so instead of splicing, I purchased a whole new harness.

Has anyone replaced the main wiring harness on a 1500FI?

Other than obvious components to be removed (i.e. Tank and Seat)

I was wondering if any other major components have to be removed?
Is there enough room to fish the harness to all locations or does the motor have to be lowered to get wires to ECU?

Thanks
