my 2016 Voyager smoothed out a lot around 5000 miles. Even on a 100 degree day in stop and go traffic I don't have any problem of overheating(the bike that is) it will get up just a little over 3/4.

I'm now on my second Vaquero. During Nashville stop-n-go rush hour traffic in August, I would just break out in song!

Hey, it passes the time! If the bike isn't moving, it will cook you. The engine is fine though. And all of the previous suggestions will help, but not eliminate, the heat. After all, that is one monster engine between your legs!

I also have a 2015 and ride about 10k miles a year mostly in Florida. During the winter my temp needle will creep close to the hot end of the gauge in stop and go traffic even when it's 40°f outside. The fan kicks on when it hits a certain temp and everything is fine. During the summer when it's above 90°f outside with humidity in 80 to 100% range the bike does the same thing. My bike is stock and runs as it should without any issues. Your bike sounds like it's running as it should and you'll get use to the excessive temp needle movement.

my voyager smoothed out a lot around 5000 miles. these bikes run hot, it is not a problem. never had any issue even in 100+ degree weather and stuck in traffic for 3 hours. just don't leave electronics in the trunk on a hot day, saddlebags stayed much cooler.

In addition to the engine cooling down after some miles, my Nomad didn't really act broken in until I hit 12,000 miles. I hit 12000 while on a trip in the Rockies two summers ago. The engine started revving more freely and gas mileage increased 3 to 4 mpg. As everyone else has said here, Ivan's ECU reflash is a must for this bike, no matter what other accessories you put on it. The difference is dramatic to the point of feeling like a completely different engine. No snake oil here.
