Question Ivans flash on 09,10 &11 Voyagers

For those of you that have 2009, 2010, and 2011 Voyagers that have flashed.
Since these bikes didn't come with the heat management system, did you notice a big, small or not much at all difference in the heat.

1. Riding down the road on a 80+ degree day?
2. Sitting at a Stop light or in traffic?
3. Riding in slow (25-40 mph) areas?

I am looking at a 2011, but don't want to bake my wife off the back. Not to concern about me. We live out in the sticks and don't ride in the big cities. Most of our riding is on the back country roads and the secondary highways. Don't hardly ride interstates either. So usually not riding in traffic either.

I have JTD lowers on my nomad now, and I can tell the difference in the heat from the motor and its doesn't bother me.

I know some say it cooks their inter thigh, but not sure that will be a issue with me. My leg are so long, they really are not that close to the motor.

Thanks in advance for any helpful information.

I had a 2010 Voyager and only noticed the heat from the engine in traffic on very warm days, 80f and over. The rest of the time the heat was not an issue for me.

I have a temp dip stick in my 2009 Vulcan Nomad. I have looked at it often and I have not noticed any difference in temperature once having Ivan's Flash at all. Now I do think I can only do this from memory that the fan does turn on more often after the flash but heck it could be a brain fart in me and there might be no difference at all.

My view anyways.

I installed a KAMS kit on mine before I had it flashed. The kits are still sold on Ebay for $400, and definitely worth getting if you find heat an issue. I wouldn't make it a priority though, or if you do - Ivan's flash should be a higher one.

Now you know I have a 12 so I already have the hairdryer. The biggest difference I’ve noticed is when I put the stock pipes back on. I read where some people had said that they couldn’t tell any difference between the stock and aftermarket pipes but I sure could. In 90°+ heat the stock pipes were considerably warmer so I immediately put the cobras back on. I actually think my Voyager feels cooler than my Nomad does.

Peg, how hard was that to install?

I know we had the conversation about the pipes in Antlers.

Does the Voyager feel cooler than the Nomad with the stock pipe and before the flash? Or after the upgrades?

Not hard at all... Borderline easy. There are complete and comprehensive step-by-step instructions included, I took my time and did the harder part (radiator replacement, front cylinder shrouding) in one afternoon - and the easy part (rear cylinder hair-dryer) the next day.

Apart from some very slight change to the way the gears were cut, and a change to slightly quieter exhaust pipes, the KAMS kit is the only difference across all model years, that I'm aware.
