Gps 2012 Voyager

I want to put a Gps on my 2012 voyager. I would like to have it integrate to my radio system and interrupt the music playing thru my installed ipod. I see the zumo 660/665 is used on other members bikes and it sounds as if the Kaw mounts and connectors will work or allow this I not too concerned with the cost, i just want it to work great. I would though like to get the largest screen that will work. I sure this has been addressed before bu I dont know where help to look

I have a 660 and it works great. You have to buy the audio plug from Kawasaki and then wire it to the GPS positive and negative under the fairing (your manual details this). I cut off there connections and soldered it.

I also have the Garmin 660 and wired it into the audio system just like Framer did. I don't use the voice prompts very often but they are very handy in some situations.

The screen is large enough for me but sometimes needs shading when the sun is behind you at certain angles.

I also like the fact that I can have 20 trips loaded onto the GPS for instant access and I have over 50 trips loaded on the microchip that can be transferred very quickly to the GPS. Plus you can load a ton of music onto the microchip.

Another great option is using Garmin Basecamp free software to route your trips on the computer. After you have them routed you can open Google Earth and have it show your highlighted route. I do that to see if any of the back roads I used are dirt instead of paved.

The beauty of the 660 is that it is capable of playing music so you don't have to buy crapple products. On my 2010 I spliced the GPS into the audio input so I could play the music and directions through the speakers

I have the Garmin 660 and the UClear HBC200 helmet communication and it Bluetooths the GPS and music to the helmet. I had just this week added a Bluetooth transmitter to the rear speaker lines and can listen to the radio thru the helmet. Great sound and little or no wind noise. You can answer your phone with out using your hands and the GPS is priority so you do not miss a GPS instruction. I use hearing aids and you can't wear them when riding the bike, so the Voyager radio is useless to me without the Bluetooth setup.

I use the Garmin Zumo 390 because not only does it integrate perfect with the Voyager's sound system (for nav and warnings) but it provides TPMS readout and controls a Garmin camera I have mounted on the crash bars. I used the standard Kawasaki Navigation cable for the connection.
