Cobra Light Bar Install Question

I was reading the installation instructions on Cruiser Customizing for the Cobra Light Bar. It sounds pretty easy. Can a novice, like me do it, or should I pay someone to do it ?

Cobra Light Bar Install Question

I installed my own. Went by the directions on Gadgets Page. Put it on it's own separate circuit with resistor. Believe me, if I can do it anybody should be able to do it.

Not to be rude, but don't you mean a fuse or a relay, rather than a resistor?

Cobra Light Bar Install Question

Here ya go,
http://www.gadgetjq.com/wiredrivinglights.htm
You need 2 fuses and a relay, there's a drawing showing the diagram, and its a pretty straight forward install. I would recomend soldering opposed to crimp on connections ;)

Bankerfrank,

I installed mine following the instructions that came with it and I was able to do it without any problems. The instructions that come with the unit are pretty simple to follow.

Cobra Light Bar Install Question

I read the install instructions online, and they seemed pretty straight forward, but they also said to have it installed by a qualified tech. I dunno. I might give it a whirl. I can always take somewhere, but from what you guys are saying, I won't have to.

I don't think your rude CJ and Ringadingh is correct also.
I put a fused circuit and a relay :)
See bankerfrank , I can,t even keep my terminology straight and I got it installed by myself and it even works like it's supposed to.

Cobra Light Bar Install Question

I followed the instructions on Gadget's page as mentioned above. I ignored the on/off switch running up to the handlebars, however, since there was an on/off switch already built into the light bar. That light bar switch pops out which makes it easier to hook wires onto it and then pops back in. I ran the wires from the battery into the locked side panel and located the relay and fuse there. Seemed to be more room available than under the seat.
