Oh, yea of little faith. Several of you expressed skepticism and doubt about the ability of these little glass miracles to dynamically balance the tires. When I had my new ME880's mounted I told the shop to pour one bag (2 ozs each) into each tire and not to install balance weights. Sure enough when I showed up they had balanced the wheels anyway. 1/4 oz on one wheel and a full ounce on the other. We removed the weights before I left the shop and they were shaking their heads. Put the wheels on yesterday and went for a quick spin, bike was smooth up to 55 mph. Today I took the bike into town to run an errand and took the long way home on I-15. 80 mph and smooth as glass. Yep, the beads work. Don't know how, don't know why, I just know that the bike is balanced and she does not vibrate at all.

I am going to buy a pack to throw in the saddlebags along with an emergency repair kit. The beads will stick to the glue on a tire plug but a new tire would be needed anyway. So at the next opportunity off with the old plugged tire an on with a new one and the pack of beads poured into it for balance.

Yeah, that's me I guess. These things always seemed like snake oil to me.

Well, let us know how they work over the long haul, OK?

I just had El Nomad put a new front tire on (he has the HF tire machine in his garage) and decided to give them a shot. Took off the weights from the last tire change and put a bag of beads in. Tire performs flawlessly. Smooth as can be...no wobble, no vibration. So far, so fine. We'll see how it does over the long haul, but so far I'm impressed.

Not me I searched a dealer called White Horse press in Conway NH, that Dynabead says is a dealer... I couldn't locate the item, so sent them a e-mail asking..

I figure it will work or it won't, and I'ld like to find out.

If they don't carry the items I will order them on line, but Monday I gotta go up that way for several reasons..

If anyone knows the theory behind these I am all ears...

CQ, I will keep you posted. AG, welcome to the "club". Mac, I have no idea how these things work. Can't even begin to guess how they work. Makes no sense at all. Sure gives a smooth ride though.

Was wondering the same thing. Hope he was put off by some of the GW remarks.

Don't know. He still posts on VROC. I'll have to ask him next time I see him.
Must just be busy with retirement.

Hey macmac,

If you speak to Jeff at Whitehorse tell him Vin from the state safety course sent you. Maybe they'll give you a discount.
