Really? A repair shop that sells bike tires instructed you that switching to a rear tire which needs to be replaced 4 to 5 times more often is a good idea? I can't imagine where they came up with that logic.

car tires are bad because you have to use more air to bring them up to pressure.

On a serious not. If I can get 10000 miles out of a tire then i'm satisfied. I mean really, a motorcycle tire supports the weight of that motorcycle including the passenger so it's going to wear out sooner or later, just buy another one. Personally I wouldn't run a car tire on the back of my bike, just doesn't seem normal but that's just me.

It won't do all that but I don't have to put my feet down at stop lights.

So I just got back from getting some warranty work done on my bike at the dealer and the service writer nearly scolded me for having a car tire on my bike. I just looked at him and laughed.

It bugs us, the ones steeped in years and experience of daily and cross country travels on car tires, that some shitjack malcontent spews obvious second hand gossip, who will blame anything from low fork oil to faded seat cushions on a car tire installation. We've been debating this subject for years, and we got to where we like to have fun with it now. We like new threads. Don't let this buncha yacking chuckle heads keep you from starting a thread. Keep 'em coming. It's like that old Laugh In show around here, if you're old enough to remember it. Every comedian is trying to out do the other comedian. Runs me crazy sometimes, I'll tell you. Oh Lord, not more misguided information from yet another malcontent. Dare you not quiver, nor fret my dear lad. We Magi will protect you and provide guidance. I'm kiddin', I know who he is. A man who's started some of the most undeniable damn stupidest threads since the conception of the forum, and took all kinds of slings, arrows and small arms fire imaginable. Yet he still dose it! God love him, he ain't no quitter. What a MAN! What a BIKER!
