Orofino Weather
I've been looking at the weather for Orofino next week; the week before we get there and it's going to be 100 degrees most of that week.

I believe orofino holds the record for the high temperature in the state of Idaho. The elevation is low so it gets real hot. If I recall, the record temp is 118. I can get that here at home.

I have been through Lewiston and Orofino with temps over 105. That whole area around the Snake River basin can get very hot. I just changed the oil to Mobil 1 15w50 because I am expecting it.

Somehow I wish the weather would be considered before deciding on a location. I had no idea. 10 straight days traveling in 95+ degree weather is going to suck.

We did Brad. Average high and low is 90 and 54. Can't forecast a year into the future if there is a heat wave.

The last time I rode Lolo Pass in July it was cold at the top and cool (60's) in Orifino.

I bought one of these: http://www.missionathletecare.com/co...ool-multi-cool
to try out on the trip, it works pretty much as advertised at home, I just don't know how long the cooling effect will last on the bike at 75 MPH. $19.95 at Lowe's. 90 degrees probably is pleasant to someone who lives in the land of fog and drizzle (you know who you are). It's 90 degrees when I go to work in the mornings. I was hoping for 70's-80's in Orofino. I don't know that I want to ride 1300 miles to cook my ass off.

90 isn't bad. Just remember you had a rally at Mequite, NV.
Are we going to add you to the list?
