I like the old school look of both the Drifter and Indian.
However, the fact that he put Indian emblems on this bike is a mystery to me.
Why not just call it a Drifter?
I suspect that he made all the mods so that people would think he was riding an Indian rather than just a Kawasaki Drifter.

Sort of like putting Cadillac trim on a Chevrolet . . . wait, Cadillac actually did that a while ago!

It would be like putting Harley badges on a Nomad with a HD tourpak. You're not fooling anyone, but the owner looks like a fool.

..Well in a "More Tollerant World" --To Each His Own !...It's a Drifter
But I see that he was careful to not show the final drive side of the bike...If it's the little drifter it's got -Chain Drive !

...If it's the Big Drifter it's got the -Shaft Drive !

...I dont ever want another chain driven bike!

Yeah, like they say "imitation is the scincerest form of flattery" but still, it just doesn't seem right to buy one brand and then try to rebadge it as another brand.
Its a poser bike

If it has rear shocks it is a 1500 with shaft drive , if it is a mono shock it is an 800 chain drive.
That bike has shocks so it is a 1500 shaft drive.

The amount of people who admire my bike and say what a beutifull harley, then change to indifference when i put them straight, is amazing, ive had people mock it because it isnt a harley, one bloke even had the front to say that i got it because i probably couldnt afford a harley, jesus, i researched for months before i bought my bike, and i chose it because it is more reliable, water cooled, shaft driven, and in my eyes better looking than any harley that ive seen, and it was £3100, a harley would be £8000 + and f--k knows how much i would have spent repairing it over the last year and 12000 miles, ive seen hundreds of bikes at shows and i wouldnt swap mine for any of them, no contest mate.

I love my nomad. A lot of riding friends at work have HDs...most actually. I've always HEARD about the unreliablility of HDs but in my 7 yrs at home depot corporate none of them have needed major repairs and I've never seen any leaks. If I could afford it, id consider a HD, as well as a Victory or GW. As of now with 2 small (very expensive kids) I'm happy with the cheap/reliable combo of my nomad.

In 2008, when I bought my 2006 Nomad, I was originally looking at the VN2000. The dealer didn't have any in stock and I would have to order it. Fortunately, he had a used Nomad on display. I saw it and it was the right bike at the right price. Had also looked at Harleys, but even used, they were way overpriced. The only problem is non-bikers don't know what it is and I have to say "like a Harley"...then I add "only better".

Here's a twist, go buy a Thunder Stroke 111" Chief and rebadge it as a Drifter.

Would that make it a "wanna be wanna be"?
