I use accel wires. They work fine with the screw caps.

Well gentlemen, got everything buttoned up, motor back in, fresh oil, and antifreeze and go to start the thing and it will not fire for anything. Cranked on it for a while. It sputtered and backfired while I went through everything in my head trying to figure out what I could've done wrong or forgot to hook back up. And then, with a mighty roar and a cloud of choking, eye stinging smoke, she came to life. If it were not for 8 inches of snow in my yard between me and the street, I would've been gone. I at least got some good revs in and all sounds really good.
