Fair warning: In the process of installing a Chuckster on my '99 Carbed Nomad, I sought to replace the main jet with a 170. I discovered that the replacement jets available were smaller in diameter and thread. Granted, the one I had in it was a 165, but based upon conversations with Joe, it was best to have the 170. I ended up taking the 165, and the too small 170 he provided with the intake, (not his fault, as that was what was specified for my carb), to a machinist friend who drilled out the center hole of the 165 to match the diameter of the 170. It worked great!
If you have a local dealer, take your current main jet with you and make sure the 170 they have available is the same size and thread. |
