Handlebar specs

I am considering going to some type of ape hanger bars on my 2005 Nomad. I have short risers which has helped but the angle of the bars puts my hands at the bent angle and my wrists to sleep. I would like them to be a little higher and closer to me as well. Is there any good way to determine how a bar will ride other than guessing?

This site gives dimensions for stock handlebars as well as for replacement handlebars: http://www.sideroadcycles.com/Import...lebarsOne.html

Gadget has also gathered information from Sideroad, and posted it here

handlebar hand angles

One of the main things I dislike about the stock bars is the grip angle. It seems I'm having to turn my wrists outward too much. I read one thread about most being around 22 degrees and more comfortable was around 42 degrees (or something like that).

That spec isn't listed on bars is it? So I guess you just have to look or find someone with the bars if you are lucky.

I found that's something that can be adjusted out to some extent by tipping the bars a little further backwards. You'll swap an outward angle for a downward one - which looks better anyway IMHO?
