IBA SS 1000 - 11/3 Woodstock, GA

I am going to be running a SaddleSore 1000 out of Woodstock on the 3rd. I will probably be running solo, but if someone else wants to come along and is in the area please feel free. I am going to be riding down to New Orleans Metarie Area to get a po-boy at my favorite place and then heading back. I will be stopping in Greenville, AL for a 3-4 hr nap at a hotel and then completing the journey. It's going to be grueling, I am going to be leaving around 4 in the morning.

I am going to ask one of my buddies if he wants to come along, but I really don't think his bike is outfitted for this style of endurance riding. However, if anyone else feels like coming around feel free to jump on it.

You'll be fine. It isn't all that bad actually. Just plan your ride and ride your plan. Stay hydrated and warm (if it is cool). On my last one, we took two 45 min. breaks and still got it done in 20 hours.

Good luck on it. Kawhead, you should jump in on this one :)

If I could trailer my bike down there, I'd do it. The weather up here in Nov is liable to include snow/ice. Not me on a bike, that's for sure.

I know I'm not worried about it. Basically did 2 of these this year from Georgia to Michigan on a shadow 750. Unfortunately it was for funerals, and I didn't have time to document it, as it was literally a phone call and me jumping on the bike.

I can only imagine how much easier this is going to be on my nomad. I just really want a po-boy, and am in a mileage contest on my club. This seems perfect. I have a camelbak and gerbing heated gear, so staying hydrated and warm shouldn't be an issue.

I have to see what I can do. I've already approached him too many times with that same ol' hat in my hand with the same ol' story. Them sad ol' basset hound eyes can only get me so far.

As much as I'd like to, it ain't lookin' good. As Corigan mentioned earlier, I've already done it one time under some bad conditions, so the next one is going to be a pie job.

If'n I were there, we would. When we meet at a rally, first round is on me, second is on Kawhead.

Sounds good. I'm going to be at the national this year if your're there.. I will make a trip up to dickel's distillery to pick up some dickel select barrel before I head out that way. Amazing stuff.

I know you screwin' with me!

I don't have any idea how the vacation scheduling works in other industry, and ours has just started this way, but they now want us to schedule these days in December of the prior year for vacation days for next year. It use to be "Hey can I have next week off?" And it was "I'll let you know tomorrow." Ninety-Nine per cent of the time the answer was affirmative.

We'll do one next year, while we still young and not putting another young-un through school.

Todd and Kawgirl cain't come. Things happen that nearly kill me every time me and them two go somewhere. Two out of two times is 100%.

So, if you'll excuse poor me for a minute 'cause life is so bad I gotta go scream and cry in a pillow 'cause my boss has only let me off to go do four bike rallies this year! LIFE AIN'T FAIR! THEY DON"T LOVE ME, AND I DIDN'T ASK TO BE BORN!

The secret to getting anything from Coach is buy him the first round, and then its GAME ON!
