For $1500 (plus labor and it's something like 8 hours on the books), I'll just do what I've always done and plan my parking. It would be neat and I'd probably use it if I had it but I wouldn't put $2500 in the bike just to get that closer parking space. I'm fat. I need the walk.

If I wasent born and bread "TEAM GREEN" I would consider a victory
And I'm not adverse to Beamers either
But my next bike will be a Vaquero or Concours

I don't doubt you will be very happy with your new bike Chris

I gotta thank you, Don. Your bars were one of the things the new owner raved about.

I was looking at Victory's web site for asseccories to the Vision. They have on hell of a good price for a Garmin 660 GPS!

I owned nothing but Kawasaki's before the RT. I wouldn't be averse to going back, but they'd have to offer more than they do now feature/specs wise.

You'd have to give your Ultra immunosuppressive/anti-rejection drugs if you bought it...

Holy Crap! That's $200 more than suggested retail!

Not meaning to hijack further but I think this is worth mentioning. Beware of non authorized Garmin retailers. You may find 660's in online auctions for much cheaper than other retailers. Very tempting but if you purchase from a non-authorized dealer, you have no factory warranty. Not a rumor, this is factual.

I think the term used to be called grey market. This used to happen with AppleĀ® products too. I'd love to have a 665, but it's not in the budget. I'll have to rely on google maps and the GPS I was born with.

Ponch, when I purchased my 660, I very nearly purchased from an online auction for $25 cheaper than another retailer who's ad said that he was an authorized Garmin retailer. The cheaper guy's ad didn't say the same. I asked Garmin and they explicitly said don't buy from a non authorized retailer. You will have no factory warranty. Close call because my 660 froze about a month after I purchased it. Garmin sent me another one.

Just to stir-up a conversation about "breaking-in" an engine... read this...

http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

His approach is quite controversial; however you will find a fairly large group of people from engineers, mechanics and the like that agree with him. However, you will also find some that do not.

I find it interesting and would like to see comments from those with a deeper knowledge of engineering and mechanics.

Let the conversations roll...

Oh yeah... congrats Chris on the new bike... you're gonna love it!

It's $1150 total including the mount and communication cable. I'll buy a RAM mount and get a cheap(er) GPS if I don't use my phone.

I read that on another forum. I've got a 5 year warranty. I might as well try it Motomans way.

From owning a beemer for the last year and 10 months, I have found out from reading and personally that the boxers can take 12-18k miles to fully break in. Mine is still getting better with oil consumption at 12K (it's not bad, about a quart every 6k now) and I have had no compunction in pushing it. My Nomad was not like this at all. It pretty much was broken in oil wise after the 600 mile service.

I don't know of the capability of the onboard computer with Victory bikes, but the BMW computer will report excessive RPM during break in. The damn thing is the nanny state.
