Did the rad today, about 4 hours, an easy way to refill the rad is just to use the top hose, put the anti freeze in through the hose before connecting it the thermostat housing, when the antifreeze comes out of the housing, quickly put the hose and and tighten the hose clamp. You shouldn't have to bleed any air as it will go into the overflow tank. Just make sure that if you have pets, you wash down any spillage.

Was the rad different than the one you removed? People are saying it was the same part # for a 09 as a 12 ??

What is different is the bottom holder, the one that has the rectifiers attached. I think the top bracket on the rad may also be attached further back as the radiator is more forward due to the enclosure that is now attached between the motor and the rad. you also get longer hoses for the rad as well. Bottom line is that the rad is included so why not use it? if it is the same as the one I took off, though I didn't look or measure, you now have a spare one.

Just finished the KAMS rear kit, 90 minutes to install. Unless you are an absolute dufus with tools, there should be no reason you could not do it yourself and save the labour costs at the dealer. For those in Canada, get it through the US, you are being gouged in Canada. Now to take it for a spin and see how it is.

It is, and Kawasaki USA looks to be selling at cost, so at least they are not scamming the owners who want to get rid of the heat, rode it for the first time this morning, not a long ride but it seemed that the heat was less than before, have to wait for a really hot day to try it out under extreme temps.
Got back from the ride and both fans are working fine, the rear kit actually doesn't take the heat from the rear cylinder, what it does is draw the heat from the rear exhaust pipe and basically sucks it in and blows it out the left side by the passenger floor board, it doesn"t appear that the hot air will be directed onto the passengers feet, as it directs the flow into the gap between the floorboard and the frame.

Yep, just plug and play, very easy installation to do, the hardest part was the rad as you have to take the old one off, and putting the rubber and foam part in was a bit awkward, but after some fiddling it all went together well. You do not have to remove the gas tank, just raise it to get to the hose clamp for the top rad hose, (the new one is longer).
