I've seen your endorsement for the Michelin Commander II in other threads Stan, and am firmly set to try a set for my next change, so thanks.

SHOWmad was asking whether a 200 tire would fit the rear though... and I'm fairly confident it wouldn't.

ran metzler's on two different bikes. Cupped both times in the front before they wore out.

4. I even read too many Left Turns ?

5. Radial Tires have softer rubber compounds and wear quicker.

It seems like all brands of Tires that I have had mounted the ME 880's have so far at 11,600 k miles with plenty of tread left are my choice.

I check my bike out before riding almost all the time including tire pressure.
made a few other notes .

Good points but not applicable to my situation. Some friends of mine who have harley's love the metzlers. I just haven't had good luck with them.

i have putted a commander II for the rear tire , because the metzeler that i had has cracked after 13 thousand kilometers, and all i can say, the confort on thwe road is very munch better it is smoother , now i'm checking for the durability, they are saying about 30 thousand kilometers, probably not, but if it does 20 , it will be better than 13 !!

tires

Before getting the Nomad I rode a 1500 Vulcan Classic for 8 years. Replaced the Bridgerocks with the original Michelin Commander. Put on two sets of these, and got 27000 km. with both sets.

My 2 centavos worth.
IMO that Avon Cobra mated wioth a Dunlop SP 5000 is the best of the vey best for making a 1600 Nomad handle..

You would wear out a few Avon Cobra's before that Dunlop goes away too. This combo will be my next if i can just wear out what I have now... Ft is 251 dunlop radial and it wears like iron and handles ok for that.
