5 days sounds better than 4. Enjoy the trip!

Updated with some inputs put it, I will also be changing the front side and heading north from Watonga, OK up through around Fairview. Trip is now planned for 5 days, first night in C Springs, second in northern Utah, 3rd in a motel around Montrose so I can hit the million dollar highway after a good night's sleep and then somewhere in either AZ or NM for the last night of camping then home the last day. The plan is to avoid interstates until the last day (maybe) and through Glenwood Canyon.

Good move. Quality is always more fun than quantity when going on MC trips.

Dewey, when are looking at taking this ride? You have peaked my interest. I've been wanting to take a multi day ride sometime, especially west. Are you planning on doing this alone?

I am up for future rides as a group but yeah, I am planning this one alone. If only because for the next 5 years I am not sure if or when I will be able to do this again and alone time won't exist anymore, lol. 2-3 day trips will be a definite possibility though, it just won't be until summer-fall of 2013 before I can. Now mind you, I am doing bits and pieces with others, I may be meeting rustyford around Watonga for a bit so that may work out. I hate sounding so dismissive but I got this vision in my head so I am going with it. :)

Not a problem at all. No offense takin' by it. I was just curious. I like your route. It looks like something you'll really enjoy. If you get a chance, you'll have to post a write-up and some pics of your trip.

Yeah, I need to upgrade my membership so I can upload more than 4 pics. I do have some pics from my 3 day trip last September through AR/MO. I plan on taking lots more this trip, whats the fun in a trip if you can't look back in 5 years and see how much fun it was?

Once you retire that check rolls in regularily. I know I sure enjoy the first of each month. It was tough doing 20 years but looking back it was well worth it.

Enjoy the ride and be safe.

Lucky, I hope to do another trip of that kind, before I can't do anything.

New idea posted, this one is a 8 night ride...rustyford I edited so we can ride I will let you know dates when it gets closer. 2 straight days of CO mountains, Zion National Park, Grand Canyon, etc...

Totaling 2980 miles, 59.1 hours in the saddle, 9 days and 7 states...and I cannot wait!!!!

Oh and by no means is this set in stone either...all this is a plan on where I am laying my head each night...how I get there is up to what roads look awesome!

"59.1 hours in the saddle"....lol....and you guys thought I was a plan-aholic..... Sounds like a great ride....you will love Zion and all the other parks. DO NOT miss the shuttle ride up Zion Canyon...that is about 75% of the park! Ride safe...and if you sign up for a free photobucket account....you can download all the pics you want and just post a link here to your album. Cherish each and every mile my friend!

Oh I am definitely a planner...I blame it on the military! The 59.1 was what google maps said I would be on the road for but tbh I don't think it will be that low. More than anything I planned this out to make sure I didn't end up 3 miles into a dirt road in the mountains on my cruiser like the last time I went on a 3 day trip...that was fun!

I'm so jealous. Now that my dad has a bike, he wants to see how far he can last heading North in the fall. We may try and make a run for the Canadian border. :)
