Seems to me if it were not safe and there was even a hint of danger, the insurance companies would not insure you. I've never heard of them not coming through on a claim and if they could weasel out of a claim, they would.

Is the article available online? I wouldn't mind reading it.

Thanks Jared, I was going to ask the same question. I looked at their web site and I don't see the article. Maybe someone {CJ} would/could scan the hard copy and post it.

As far as insurance Co.'s covering a claim for bikes/people running car tires,....... I'd be interested to know how many people {here} have told their insurance Co. that they are running a car tire on the back of their bike. I'm going to guess they'd have something to say about it. Maybe a higher premium or something. I have been thinking more about doing the change up to a C.T. after seeing "darksider's" the other week. But there's something about it I just can't wrap my brain around, and feel Ok about. Hey ! to each their own I say. If you like it and you're Ok with it then fine. It should be and is your choice.

I'm not a CT fan, however IMHO the most dangerous thing on the roads are the assholes driving cars that don't pay attention except to all the new gagets they have now to mess with while they "attempt" to drive. Cell phones, gps, etc.........

Run what you like, it's your bike. Hey I'm a poet and didn't know it

My insurance company told me as long as the tire is DOT approved, it didn't matter if it was a car tire or a motorcycle tire.

I think it has more to do with Liability than Reliability. If anyone with $$$ was bold enough to say, "motorcycles are as safe as cars", the next dumb SOB that got in a crash with a car would sue them for false information.

I hope it's not the middle of July {17th, 18th, 19th} cause he's already committed to our rally, so don't you go stealing him away now....

You have to remember what is the bottom line of any magazine and newspaper, to make money! If you don't believe me then why is there a tv show called Entertainment Tonight? Who gives a rats ass where actors or singers vacation or what they wear. I don't! Articles that are contriverseal sell papers and magazines. The best source of info is someone who has tried it, not someone who has an opinion on it without any first hand knowledge. Ignorance is a lack of knowledge. Stupidity is having the knowledge available and not using it!
