Prefer to enjoy my whiskey alone, perhaps with water but no ice. Again thanks for the reply, I hope to one day visit your beautiful country. Another "Irish" favorite of mine was a movie shot over your way, "The Quiet Man" with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. Perhaps my favorite John Wayne/John Ford collaboration. Again welcome aboard.

When it comes to whiskey for me it's Bushmills "straight up" (That's how I hold the bottle) or perhaps on ice, but no water. It does slow me down a bit when I use a glass though.

At this time of the year (IE Cold) I have a Guinness along with a dark rum and a drop of blackcurrent in the rum, you get a taste of sweet (the rum & blacurrent) and sour (the Guinness) its my favourite drink in the winter The famous hotel that featured in that film which incidentally is also one of my favourite films (Maureen O'Hara still lives in Galway at 90!) went bust last week, another sign of the recession over here see this link for details; http://www.irishcentral.com/news/Ash...134741803.html I stayed in it a couple of times during the boom years, back when I had a few bob. I remember once when I was a child staying in it with my family during the 70's and an american was making a call in the bar and he was talking to his frien Harry in California and he announced to him that he was "ringing him from Dublin Ireland" which we thought hilarious as Cong was a 4 hour drive from Dublin back in those days and is on the opposite side of the country! Thanks for making me remember that jasperboy, it's a special memory for me

Thanks fish, it's good to hear from another Paddy!
Your signature reminds me of Father Jack (from the TV series Father Ted") where the other priests said of him "he doesn't like strangers OR people he knows!"
