Interesting thread. . .
Most of my "career" was as a Plumber. How I got there is a little different. "Does not play well with others," was a common theme in school. That got me lots of "Free" room and board with various government facilities. Spent lots of years keeping LEO's and corrections staff on their toes. I picked up Plumbing as a trade while in one of those facilities in 1975. 13 Jan 2000 I decided it was time to become a law abiding citizen. That took 2 years in rehab with a Christian recovery program/ministry. My last 6 months there I was a volunteer director of the program and an associate pastor for the church. Still plumbing for the income until retirement on 27 May 2011. Now I fix broken houses to rent them out or re-sell them for a profit.

3 years as an armoured crewman with the 8th Canadian Hussars, Canadian Armed Forces. In 1982 I became a police officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I retired in 2007 and started driving tractor trailer. Last year I was approached by the chairman of the board at a large food manufacturer in our area and offered the job of driving his personal 45 foot Prevost tour bus. Pretty good retirement job. He won't fly any where, so I mostly take him to board meetings; his yacht down in Florida; or to Nascar races. Life is good!!

Twenty-six years in the Air Force as a fighter mechanic. Retired in 1995 and have been an Assistant Store Manager for EB Games and Gamestop since then. Will probably retire in 2012.

I've been a courier for FedEx Express for 31 years. For the past 24 years my route has been to the west entrance of Yosemite National Park. It's a dirty job but someone has to go there.
