Here in NY they legalized rifles in the southern zone last year.
I have a pre 64 Winchester Model 70 in 270 cal. with a Redfield 2-7X scope my Dad left me.
I still use the shotgun. I hate bangin' the Winchester around in the woods.

Rifles have been legal in the southern zone for years. Not the western zone though. I always hunted with a rifle in Delaware and Ulster counties.

That's a sweet rifle.

Rifle or shotgun? Why not step up the skill level, get up close and personal and use a bow? Stealthy stalking followed by a silent death.

I have a Marlin Slugmaster model 512 bolt action 12 gauge with a rifled barrel and 4X scope that is capable of taking a deer cleanly at 100 yards.

Unless you are shooting more than 100 yards some shotguns are just as accurate as many rifles.

TC- if it has a rifled barrel why is it not a rifle? Just asking.

ok how do you guys turn any thread into gun threads this stuff is boring as hell for us people that dont need them ill have to talk to trip to start a gun section for you all

But it shoots shotgun shells. Slugs or Sabots.
So it is a shotgun with a barrel that has rifling it it.

Ray, In some states we still have the right to own firearms.
We like shooting firearms. We like talkin' about them also.
Sorry if you have no need for them or are bored by them.

It was nice to hear that Wisconsin got a CCW law now. I think Illinois is the only state that doesn't allow any CCW by it's citizens. Other places are so restrictive that it's de facto ban, like NYC, DC and may be CA. I would like to see a national shall issue law. That would drive the progressives nuts.

A national shall issue law is something you are probably not going to ever see.
I will never see a NY State reciprocity law either.
I had to get a Utah CC permit so I could carry in some of the states Cindy and I ride in.
No Ray, it is not being paranoid, I consider it being prepared.

Getting back on topic.;)
Anybody know where the NCR rally is going to be this coming year?
If it is close enough to me I may attend.
