Aftermarket seat
Has anyone bought an aftermarket seat for the Voyager. If so what brand and what are your opinions of the seat. The stock seat makes me feel like I am riding on the gas tank.

I dont like the stock seat ethier. As soon as our riding season ends in wisconsin. I am sending my seat into Russel daylong seats in california. A friend of mine got one for his bike and it was very comfortable. They dont have a finish pic of a 1700 but they do have of the 1600. I'm just doing the front. My wife likes the back seat the way it is. Price is S1 solo on thier price page.

Hi, There are photos of the Daylongs seats on a Voyager on the Delphi Vulcan website. Go to the Voyager section and you should find it. I had Daylongs on my 05 Nomad, great seats.
See the link below to the Daylong discussion. http://forums.delphiforums.com/kawvu.../?msg=104669.1

Try Kawasaki's GelSeat. It's dirt cheap, looks like the stock seat and is very comfortable; the only caveat is that it adds about one inch of height! I couldn't use it after I bought it because it put me on my toes.

bigmacbkr. How tall are you and what is your inseam length. i dont like the banana shape of the stock seat. puts to much pressure on the jewels and thighs.

+1 on the pressure on the jewels. I'm 6'7 with a 36" inseam. Sometimes i feel like I need to be wearing a cup

I bought an Ultimate driver's seat and it has been great. I didn't replace the rear seat. Also added a grasshopper backrest and it's been awesome. Ultimate seats were great to order from and have fast shipping.

Can you send me a photo of your Ultimate seat ? Does it put you closer to the tank, same, or further back ?

I will email you a photo or two. I think it puts you just a bit further back than the stock or at least it seems that way to me. I definately don't get the butt pain I had with the stock seat. Broken tail bone here so I needed something I could ride and this seat is it for me.

Ultimate seat
I put the Ultimate 3pc package on mine which includes rider seat, passenger seat, and rider backrest. The seat is very comfortable and Ultimate uses their seat pans so you get to keep your stock seat. Total price was 900.00 which included the studs and rain covers. I'll see if I can post some pics. My wife has the Ultimate package on her 1300 V-Star Tourer also.

For that price I would send it to Russell as the seat is made for the individual. It might even be less as I wouldn't get a back rest.

Ultimates are very pricy! I had one on my VTX 1800 that I traded in for the new Vaquero... I am waiting on them to get one made for the Vaq because it was like sitting on my sofa! Worth every penny... They also have 3 differant seats for the Voyager, a big boy, a mid rider and a low boy... The mid rider is supposed to put you in the same spot as the stock seat. Low boy will drop you and move you backwards. Whatever you do enjoy it!
