Okay all. This is now less than a week away and Bill is getting nervous. Here's a link to the route. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...e1ecf9707d461e

Griz, If you have advice for leaving Pittsburg a different way, let me know.

Dave, I took a stab at your Beef O Brady's and getting there without using 540. Let me know if there's a better way or if this is not the spot you had in mind. That looks like more than half way for us, but if we get out of Pittsburg by 8:30, we should be able to make it there by 1:00. (I don't like to skip breakfast)

Griz, also let us know if you would like to have dinner on Tuesday. If not, we should be able to find lots of options near the Super 8.

1:00 sounds good to me. 59 to Barling, like you have on your map would be better than 540 IMO.
But I just don't care for the interstate, especially in towns.
I'll do it, I just don't like it.
If the interstate doesn't bother you guys then just stay on 540 to exit 12.

Just a slight change in the route out of Pittsburg, we won't go all the way to Baxter, we'll turn at Riverton, turn South in Galena on hwy 26, then East on Apricot Road to Joplin, where we will pick up 43.

Of course, lets plan on going to dinner Tuesday evening. I am really looking forward to this trip, looks like the weather is going to be beautiful! Can't wait to see you all!

Joe - Dinner sounds good and how about breakfast at the same place as last year? That place was a place!

Yes Bill, we definitely will eat breakfast at Otto's, Glenn must be planning on it too, because his posted route starts there. We have a good locally owned Steak House that I thought we might try Tuesday evening if that sounds good to you all. Do you have a friend riding with you this year?

Okay guys. Looks like we are set then. I'll update my GPS route with Griz's change.
Look forward to see you all next Tuesday evening.

What time do you think you will be at the intersection of AR59 & US62? This is only about 15 miles from my house.

Jesse, I expect it will be a little after 11. We'll try to leave Otto's by 8:15 and try not to spend too much time at a rest stop. My route planner is telling me 120 miles and 2 1/2 hours there and then another 60 miles and 1 1/2 hours to meet Dave, but we'll need a gas stop before we get there.

Just to be clear, is that the North or South intersection of 59/62?

South, they are about 3-5 minutes apart. There is a small park on the southwest corner of the intersection where we can wait out of the way. Every thing else has worked out and it looks like a go! I was in Joplin today and came back on 43. They are repaving south of Seneca, they paved one lane and left the other. There was a sign that said the road would be closed after 9/26/11 for bridge repair??? Someone may want to contact MoDot or plan an alternate route to the AR state line. Consider 43 south from Joplin to 60 east @ Seneca, to 59 south @ Neosho. 59 will bring you into Siloam Springs if you want to follow it all the way. It was a good road the last time I rode it and is very pretty in the Noel area.

Thanks for the road work notice. I'll add your alternate route to the GPS just in case.

I've gone on float trips down by Noel and it is definitely pretty nice country.
