Question on removing gas tank

A cheat to bleed is to squeeze the lower rad hose hard, several times, and watch the rez. The hard part is you may not over come the cap psi. But if you do this a few times, with the engine hot, you will over come the cap. May need rags or work gloves though.

There is a window on the side cover to do a quick check, which you should do for the next several days and then atleast once a week.

If you didn't like the release tabs on the speedo, just wait because the ones on the battery hold down are just so much more fun :(" title="" border="0"/> If I could I would crucify the engineer who cadded that design up. That design wins hands down the worst battery box and hold down I have seen in my life.

Oddly the 1500 have one of the best.

Question on removing gas tank

Window on the side cover? You sure, I've never noticed that on mine. To see the reservoir?

Question on removing gas tank

The window is a lot easier to see on a Classic. It is right beside where the top of the bag guard mounts to the bike (Classics don't have the bag guards). I've tried using a mirror to check it, but ultimately it's easier to just pop the side cover off and look at it. Mine is at the full mark when sitting straight up, I took a sharpie and a straight edge and drew a line to where it is while leaning on the side stand.

Question on removing gas tank

That is one strange movie. I think the only one stranger, is a movie made in the 1970s, I don't think there was more than a couple conversations in the whole thing. There transporting this ship across the country, the star of the movie gets attacked by a bear and mauled almost to death. His buddies bury him, he comes to a couple of days later and tracks them down.

Know the name and actor?

Instead of a 'window', are you talking about a 'cutout'? If that's the window, there is no way in hell anyone can use that to see, unless you took your right bag off and rear crash bar. See pic, is that what you are talking about?

Here we go, 1971 - Man in the Wilderness, with Richard Harris and John Huston. Richard Harris is the mountain man.

To hell with the mirror, might make the mistake of looking into it and seeing just how good looking I am!

Think it is easier just to pop the side off.

That movie reminds me of what it was like when I use to go to my in-laws. They even dressed the same way.

My first clue shuddah bin when I seen my Maw-In-law allow my wife's younger 15 year old sister smoke a cigarette at her dinner table in front of her two kids. :-/

You live you learn. :'(

Evidently I missed seeing that movie. It looks like parts of it are based on a real event with a real Hugh Glass. No one knows alot about Hugh Glass, but they know much more about Bridger and Fitzgerald, who left Hugh for dead. Hugh was left for dead, but not buried.

I am on 56 k so I can't get to much off the link. I have no clue about transporting a ship over land??? across the USA in the flim or in real life unless you count Lewis and Clark, and I am not sure i would call any craft they had a ship.

Sam Colter was a member of the L&C team, and was released before getting back to St Louis. Sam turned in his tracks and was the first white man to discover what is known as Yellow Stone today. No one at the time belived he found mountains made of glass or stinking pits, but he sure did.

Ah' been thar' and seen em with my own eyes!

Sam had a little run on bare feet too, but wasn't attacked by any bears.

I think it may have been based in part on Hugh Glass.

Kawhead, love the description of in-laws. Reminds me of what, was it the first Vacation movie, when visiting the cousins and the girl says "I've been told I'm a good kisser. My Daddy told me so".

Question on removing gas tank

One of my regrets is I beat around the bush and sugar coat my stories too much when I describe my feelings about my in-laws.
