Dumb question
Maybe try some different shops in the area, the Techs in those shops may also have worked on HONDA equipment in the past. Or email a Motorcycle Tech school and see if one of the instructors can help you out. There must be a motorcycle school in Ontario.

Dumb question
I can't help you with the belt situation as I have never owned a belt driven cycle. Owned a couple with chains and now three with shafts.
I do have a couple of questions for you. What color is your Nomad? Is it a factory color or did you paint it?

Dumb question
Bob Cat I don't know either. Seems you have the idea right. The way you wrote about it leads mwe to think if you tinker with it some it mught come to you for whats missing in yer head.
Since it is in a tool kit, it must be in a owners manual, not a shop labor book. I bet you showed it to an alledged Honda tech who didn't know what it was. The only way to save face is to BS you and act mean. I have fired techs for that BS myself. I was their BOSS once.

Dumb question
Here's another thought bobcat. Contact Honda Canada customer relations. Maybe they can help when it is explained that the tool was supplied with the bike and the local dealer was of no help ( I am assuming that the info would have been in the owners manual and you are missing this ).
Honda Motorcycle, Power Equipment, Marine & Auto Customer Relations 180 Honda Boulevard Markham, ON L6C 0H9 Toll Free 1-888-9-HONDA-9 (1-888-946-6329) Hours 8:00 am to 7:30 pm Monday to Friday (EST)

I'm curious, where do you insert that gauge? I know how the Harley belt gauge works.[/quote] there is a hole in the belt guard to insert and lock the gauge into |

Dumb question
BobCat, tell me what you learned ok? It might help me tell someone else one day. Here or in a pm is fine by me. You are not the first guy here with a OT engine related problem either.
Some things i come by elsewhere, so i was hoping to be of some use. Sorry i wasn't this time.
