Does anyone find it interesting that a MC tire manufacturer feels enough heat from the Darkside to try to justify the existence of a MC tire? Why don't they just make a decent MC tire that will give reasonable mileage at an affordable price? Instead of fighting the Darkside they should face it head on and give us what we want.

Last weekend while riding the Talimena and Arkansas Hwy 7, I scraped my boards and Valkyrie tips several times. Jesse, who runs a CT on his Nomad and who was riding behind my wife and I stated to me that he was paying very close attention to my back tire during those hard leans. He told me that the high side of the CT was barely off of the road surface while scraping. There is no way that I could get my tire on the edge. Also, I did notice that it took a little more pressure on the bars in sharp turns but this was only when the tire was brand new with 40 lbs of air pressure. I don't notice this phenomenen at all anymore. I'm maintaining 32 psig in the tire now and will hold it there for another thousand miles or so before dropping to 30 pounds.

Bud,
One would think that, instead of them naysaying the darkside all the time, they would research it and actually produce a hybrid - A CT made especially for motorcycles? Or would that make too much sense?

On a Nomad there is no way to get up on the edge... Before you could the boards and bars would have to be ground off...

I do feel the bike want to be up straight a little more, and I prefer the feel, over the lesser effect of a mc tire. The opposing forces create a stability not there with a mc rear.

Instead of pressing down in to a lean at 3 foot pounds, maybe I press down at 3.5 foot pounds. This is easy to get used too.

Since I hit the jeep that hit the moose, anytime i ride I look at both tires still, and again when I stop for a bit. I did that yesterday and look for flaws from running over the hard plastic shards that came off the jeep. I even collected one and brought it home.

I still find no damage to anything other than the fender. But while looking at both tires, was checking out the new D 251F radial, to see how far over any road wear is. I am trying to scrub off my chicken strips

Well I am so far as a Nomad can lean, but that rear doesn't have any marks where it shouldn't on the side walls.

This means I will never scrub off the ft tire's chicken strips! Not unless I swap out the bars to nuthin, and get rid of the boards... Not an option.

Mac, On my trip to Arkansas and on the return trip, I would check both new tires but especially the CT for excess heat or any sidewall damage at each fuel stop. I was riding 2 up and pulling my trailer. The CT was not any warmer than the new front Cobra, at least by feel anyway. I was checking that CT so closely that my wife kept asking me if something was wrong with it. No flaws or damage apparent.

Yeah, Yesterday my wife asked me the same thing. Other than a few engineering flaws i don't like, this Nomad has been a great bike from the day i bought it.

Exactly. And just think about what a coup it would be, they'd grab a huge chunk of the MC tire market in an instant.
