3 Pass Blast!

Sat. May 9 my wife and I joined a large group of bikes from the Seattle Puget Sound Motorcycle Riders for their 4th annual 3 Pass Blast through the beautiful Cascade Mountains here in Washington State.

Meeting in North Bend, Washington at Ken's Truck Stop....we pulled in to find about 75 bikes...!!! The weather was awesome and it was a very pleasant day for this kind of ride.

Anyways....in various groups we proceeded to head east on I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass to Cle Elum, then north on Hwy 97 over Blewett Pass to Cashmere, where we met at Country Boy's BBQ shack for a fabulous lunch.

From there it was back west on Hwy 2 over Stevens Pass and back into Everett. I think it was around 300 miles round trip from my place and back....doing one very big circle.

Here is a link to a cool video one of the riders made. Most all of it was shot going through Blewett Pass which is on the eastern side of the Cacades and runs North/South. The more dramatic mountain views are over Stevens Pass but he didn't take any of that. My only claim to fame in the vid is that my bike is in one of the line-ups near the end of the video, but you can't see it as it is in the shade.

Anyways....enjoy the video of the some of the scenery and roadways we have here in the Evergreen State!

That's cool. I wish I could have made it. Working Saturdays frackin' sucks.
Where ever did you find out about such a cool riding group (he asked knowingly)? ::)

Great video.. Man, I miss the riding in the NW. The season isn't very long, but when you can get out, the scenery and the roads are better than almost anywhere else I've been. Glad you had a great time!

3 Pass Blast!

I don't know what all the fuss is about netnorske... all that flat land and boring scenery... not sure how you guys can stand to ride around there.

Oops! Wait a minute! Wrong video... I was looking at video in my own home state of Illinois. ;)

Let's just say... I envy you guys. Looked like a great ride and lots of fun! :)

GL,
You would sh*t yourself if you knew all the great roads up here in the Pacific NW to ride. What's amazing is that the Cascade Mountain range runs north/south from Canada to California and the climatology and geology is vastly different depending if you are on the eastern or western side of them. Western Washington/Oregon is wet, green and hilly. Eastern Washington/Oregon is dry, brown and more like the mid-west.

We have oceans, rivers, mountains and deserts all within a couple hours of each other...so the array of terrain to cover is spectacular. You never get tired of it....especially since we can only truly enjoy it about 6 months out of the year!
