So I just noticed this. I like the idea of Lake Tahoe. I like the idea of a week or so before the National because I might go to the National. I have been to the Ark Ozark area a dozen times and June is always the rainy season there and so I am not real excited about it but I might go just to see folks.
But the Tahoe area and the trip out and back would be fun, Plus it would give me and opportunity to mentor Brad on the "retired mode" approach to riding!
So keep me in the loop kids!

If you think June is the rainy season you haven't been here in April.

So whats the consensus here on this deal for next year?

I have been all over the place fishing...first to Idaho doing an article on the steelhead fishing on the Clearwater River. Yes...I went back, but stayed at a great little lodge 15 minutes off Hwy 12 at Peck Jct....about 10 miles west of Orofino. Fishing was fabulous. We hooked over 40 steelhead in two and a half days fishing with Mel Stottlemyre, Jr. Yes, THAT Mel Stottlemyre! Mel Jr. is a coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks, but guides the Clearwater in the off-season. His dad (Mel Sr.) pitched 11 years for the Yankees (1964-74) and won 5 World Series as a pitching coach for the Yanks and the Mets!

I then headed to the coast and had a couple days of fantastic Coho fishing on Washington's Clearwater River...a tributary of the Queets. I don't get here near as often as I used to...just too much going on...but want to know what's up so I can make reservations or whatever. You know it can't be a party without me...!

Joel sent me this for a couple of potential places. have a looksie.

Here are 2. They are both in the top half of trip advisor ratings.

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...alifornia.html

Cost for that one by bookings.com is $61 per night.

This one is $35 per night on expedia.com.

Both have pretty good reviews and the negatives are not that bad overall.

As long as there is a good place to hang out in the evening, I'm good with just about anywhere. Just post up the lodging and dates when you have a place figured out. Sounds like a great time and great riding!

Bring a tent. Plenty of areas to camp then.

Both of those are in a good area, our daughter lives within walking distance of both places. I will ask her about them this weekend when she visits us.

Since you live the closest and can still ride for awhile, maybe take a weekend and go check it out. Then you could talk to them and see if a bunch of bikers at their place is ok .

Dave, It's about a 1000 miles round trip for Brad.

He might want to call instead.
