Kuryakyn ISO grips

I just got my ISO grips and have a question about the install on the throttle side.

When you remove the OEM grip, and you remove the stock sleeve that is covering the plastic inner sleeve, do I then have to sand down the plastic sleeve that the cables hook up to.

And what about the plastic chrome spacer that comes on the stock grip..... Does it also need to be cut off or removed...
