Let us know when you get an address.
Cards are always nice to receive. More personal than this social media stuff.

I sure hate to hear this. I didn't know he had been in an accident.
I certainly wish him the best. As Tim said let us know his address if you get it.

You always hate to hear about a brother or sister down as a result of an accident.... All the best wishes and hopes that 1 year recovery / rehab estimate is on the high side.

Update on dave
Dave sent this today:
Back to the OR tomorrow sometime, surgery #4 Plastic surgery this time. If all goes well I could be out of here in a couple of weeks with my foot, a real bonus. I have a plate in my knee, rods in my leg, plus I may need a plate in my ankle after the skin grafts. Been in here for 3 months and struggle mentally at times. I plan never to throw my leg over a motorcycle seat again. I got a second chance at life and plan to use it wisely. May take up hang gliding and parachuting. Lol

UPDATE:
9/13/17 Gerry just came out of surgery a couple of hours ago, no blood clot issues still alive. Haven't talked to the surgeon yet but if all is well, home is insight. However still have a long way to go. Take care Dave. 9/13/17 I'll know in a week if the plastic surgery worked. The nurses say I am a good patient, a little Irish charm. I must be getting better Gerry, starting to size them up.lol. Take care Dave

Not one word on what actually happened, I'm hoping he will talk about it when he is ready.

UPDATE From Dave...
Gerry, plastic surgery last Wednesday, they were pleased with the outcome, so yesterday I got nothing but good news. My son was in last night with his family. He told me I died on the table on my second surgery for a minute. He said I have some heart damage nothing serious, I just may get tired quickly. My kidneys shut down so I was on dialysis for a while. Part of the good news yesterday was cretin level is normal so my kidneys are fine. I have a plate in my knee, 2 rods in the lower leg plus plastic surgery to foot and ankle. I was T-Boned by a small bus at an intersection, he hit my right leg with the front end of the bus. I still have a long road to recovery. They tell me it may take a year before I get back to full recovery. May have to use a cane but I can live with that. In fact, I may get released in a week or so. However there will be numerous follow ups with all the doctors. Thank God I live in Canada over 2 months in the hospital 4 surgeries and everything free. I have to stop complaining about taxes.
