Sunday - September 7th Cape Cod

Riding to the Cape on the 7th to meet up with id-man. Traffic will be gone so this is the perfect opportunity for anyone that is interested in riding to the Cape. I can meet up along the way.

How far down the cape? Doesn't Joe live somewhere on the elbow? From my house to Chatham is 140 miles. I am not sure I can make that trip + additional riding without my RDL.

Oh boy, first he almost sells it now it's indispensable...what a turnaround!! Haha, I know what you guys mean on the long ride times, it's not so fun when your butt's achin'. I gotta get me one of them RDLs of my own eventually - winter project. Yeah I am basically in Chatham but I can come up to the Cape Cod Canal to meet, that chops about 40 min right there. There's plenty of places up Cape to ride ("up" meaning near the Canal or mainland. We refer to the outer end of the Cape toward Provincetown as "down Cape" and yes there are numerous jokes one can make about going all the way down in Ptown - a whole different kind of butt achin'!!!)

Ha, ha that's not quite what I meant. What I meant is that I might be able to make that ride except that I don't currently have the RDL. I sent it out to have it evaluated and possibly reworked/lowered. I should know more this week. No, I didn't send it to Russell. I called them and they were not interested in talking to me because I am not the original owner.

Unfortunately even if I do get the seat reworked I doubt that I will get it back in time for the ride. The Universal seat is still getting "broken in" so even on that seat it would be a long a painful trip.

That's 330 miles round trip 6-7 hrs. and that's without exploring the cape. That's a bit to far for me. I hope you guys have a great time though.

Didn't you do 297 miles on the ride last weekend?

lol, leave it to Neil to explain it with a visual. They say a pic's worth a 1000 words. I can't read more than 1000 words at a time so no more pic's.

Provincetown is a notorious gay community - basically all gays - but also very scenic, artsy, zany and colorful, with shops restaurants and nightspots like you won't find anywhere else. Google it. They just had their gay "Carnival" last week which lots of straight people attend annually because it's such a freak-show. I resisted going, in fact I've never experienced it, but people who go insist once you do you'd be hooked. Usually downtown Ptown is such a mob scene in the summer that I don't even bother going into the quick of it, I bypass the crowds and ride the National Seashore park and dunes up there, and all the side roads in between. But if you've never seen Ptown it's a cultural shock worth doing.

And I see Neil beat me to it -

Isn't that the crowd that we rode through at the beginning of the season?

Oh my arms still ache thinking about it. I thought you video'd the wobbly crawl down Commercial Street no, did it not come out watchable?
Victor and I rode back last weekend but never hit town, just took the scenic route around the outskirts and came back all backroads, stopping at a nice BBQ joint in Wellfleet on the way down, and an equally nice ice cream spot in Truro on the way back.

Yep 297 and that was missing a turn onto Rt.32. Ended up going almost into Sturbridge and taking Rt.19 home maybe 10 miles out of the way and that's just maybe. Stopped for gas and told Laura I was just having to much fun and wanted to hit 300 miles. Ever notice how women can roll there eyes and say uh huhhhhh. What's with that any ways?
