4-Way Flashers

Yesterday with the help of the instructions on Gadgets Website, I installed a flasher unit and switch so that the turn signals could be 4-way flashers. I decided to install it in the left side cover ala Gadget. The only change I made was that I used a spst switch and used wiring from a set of fog lights that I had. They were defective and the manufacturer sent a new set, so the wire I used was in new condition. The wire was set up to accept two bullet connectors and I had the wires with pre-wired bullet connectors which I hooked up to the Gray & green wires. Since the wiring was meant for 50 watt fog lamps, I figured it was adequate to create this "Y" connection which I hooked to the "load" terminal of the switch. The left over 10 amp fuse with the pre-wired ring connector was hooked up to the battery and I was all set. I put the rocker switch rated at 30 amps on the top of the side cover. The only "Homer" moment "doh" was when I drilled the first.....yes the first hole for the switch and the switch interfered with the gas tank. Made a second hole back a 1/2" and it was fine. Hidden under the seat, it should be pretty much out of the weather...... Yeah, I'll have to do something about that extra hole....I left the wires long enough to take the cover off and I used Velcro to hold the electronic flasher unit to the inside of compartment right next to the Cobra 2000 fuel injection unit. Works great! Could have done it with cheaper parts, but it still was under $30. I bought extra connectors 'cause I wasn't sure what I had lying around.

4 way flashers

I would like to have 4 way flashers because I belong to the Patriot Guard Riders and we escort at Funerals.

not that hard to do....we did them all the time on the big HD and Kawa Police bikes.....They were kits that just installed in a little over a two hour period, we'd often drag it out to three because it was such a pain in the ass to run the wires....
Done a couple of gadget installs.....works well and holds up nice. One of my buds from Tx., did his 1500 back in 15', still works good. Uses it alot for funeral rides for the vets....(VFW)....
