Exclamation Mark You may be a member of the forum, but are you a member of the VBA?

So, you're a member of the VBA forum. But are you a member of the VBA?

Becoming a member is easy and best of all... it's FREE.

Lots of new "members" !!

I watched the members list at the top of the forum grow dramatically last week. At least I thought it was a big increase for a week. I think it went from 3401 to about 3420 something. Are these just members of the forum or are they VBA members ???

Can I just add here that this web site is free !!! for us. This doesn't mean it's free for the originator of the site Trip. I know Trip has a "donation month" but remember you can donate any time of the year. I also know not everyone can afford to donate. But I think if you can afford to go for your recreational/Sunday ride, you could maybe go half as far on one ride and donate the other half of your gas money to the web site once a year. This is an unsolicitated post and just my two cents worth. The post isn't meant to have people saying "I donated, I donated, hey me too. I just wanted to suggest that we donate a little throughout the year, if we can. Or it just might not be free, in time.
Thanks,....

Good suggestion Rickyboy. I do ride my bike mostly to work now though. If I went half as far Lowe's wouldn't like it very much with me not showing up.

Good one Gene.
Even if Ricky did change the wording.

The members list at the top of the forum is just forum members, not VBA members. To join the VBA and get a member number go the link that Trip posted at the beginning of this thread.

Now is upgrading membership the same as donating? Kill 2 birds and all that.

And for rickyboy, I am assuming the VBA numbers are sequential so 21 members have joined the VBA between myself and graywolf since 6 April.

Here's some answers to your questions guys.......
1. The VBA forum is known as an "Open" forum. That means that anyone can join the forum without actually joining the VBA. The forum has been operated this way since day one back in June of 2007. That's why there are more members on the forum than the VBA. I can't tell you how many times I've had guys requesting a membership certificate, but never joined. This is the reason why I posted this thread. To alert those that are not members to join.

2. Is upgrading membership on the forum the same as donating to the VBA?
Well, the answer is no. Many of the older members know this but even though the forum is called the VBA forum, it is owned and operated by Mike, the Admin, not Trip the Founder and President. The Vulcan Bagger Association is owned and operated by Trip (Robert Hilliard).

So, when you donate to the forum, you are donating to Mike and helping him with his expenses in running and operating a top notch forum for us.

When you donate to Trip and the VBA off of the VBA website, you are donating to Trip and helping him with his expenses in running a top notch Kawasaki motorcycle club.
