considering a change of call sign
So obviously I wasn't being very creative when I created my account with the former KawaNOW. In fact, to me it wasn't important since I'd never made a post until after the Custer rally in 2009 when I got to meet many of you.
I think I need a new "call sign" on here. Something a little better than my initials and last name. I don't think it would be entirely difficult to pull off, but Do you have any input? Suggestions of name? All subject to availability of course. And if Trip says it can't be done, then I'll stick with my Lame-Oh Name-Oh. -Jay

And all this time I thought your nickname was "dank"! Probably from childhood as you are such a dankhead!

Jay, I went and Googled biker nicknames or something like that. Here's something I found pertinent to the subject. I think this guys right.
http://www.motorcyclephilosophy.org/...-nickname.html I would think you like the roads to be twisty when you ride so I'm going to make only one suggestion. How about "twisted". It might cover a couple of things. The roads you prefer and .....your demeanor? Hey is there a prize if you pick that persons suggestion? Maybe the first nights beer at the 3rd National rally.?? Good luck and congrats again on the "Assist. Regional Leader" appointment.

First and last name followed by your birth year?
My road name is "PIRATE". Those who know me best understand the most. Patricia's road name is "Diamond". Exactly what you'd expect a Pirate to treasure.

Maybe we should all change our names and really have fun with Trip. You're not listening are you Boss?? Fortunately or unfortunately it'll be difficult for me to lose this handle I have. I have it at work too, where it originated. My friend Davy at work hung it on me first. He's a Scottish guy and it just seemed to naturally roll off his tongue years ago. He just greeted me with "rickyboy, my son". Being real Scottish originating from Glasgow or Edinburgh I think, it just seemed natural. They often tag "son" on the end of someones name or just say "how ya do'in son". I've found the British will do that too at times. Anyway I just started using "rickyboy" in emails and things like that. I have friends with kids that know me best as "rickyboy". A lot here on the forum just refer to me as "ricky". My wife calls me "rickyboy" or "r.b." when she likes me ....

Most of the people I used to ride with got their name after they had been around a while.
Drifter, he can't ride in a straight line. Dreamer, always has strange dreams to talk about. Some come true. Captain Candy, thinks he's in charge, always keeps an eye on Speedy. Speedy, always the first to run. If Speedy runs, you better start book'n. Sarge, because really, he is in charge. LB, (initials for pound) he likes to pound down the beers. Sleepy, falls asleep at redlights and stop signs. Catfish, when asked where he was from, said he was from down south. Turns out he meant Rhode Island. Loafer, commercial breadman.

I like that one!
My nickname has worn off over the years. I was known as Mo for most of my life... up until the last 4-5 yrs anyway. My parents and grandparents would even call me Mo. It got started in sports... we all called each other by our last name. So mine went from Moore to Mo as time went on and then it stuck. There's only a couple really close friends that call me that now. I always liked it. I used a combo of that and then the country singer for my handle on here.
