wind buffeting eliminated

I was determined to take the time to find the perfect settings to the windshield and windshield slider to eliminate excessive turbulance at highway speeds. After always making adjustments after a ride but never going right out and testing but rather waiting till the next ride and then forgetting prior settings I never got it right. I share this for anyone 6'3" with a 34" inseam to try as it works for me.
I placed windshield's lower mounting screws directly between the two bottom lines on the mounting plates. I lowered the adjustable slider shield to exactly a 5/8" gap from the bottom of the center of the slider to the headlight can. It is almost dead calm up to 75mph, if I was still smoking cigars I could light one up. (but I don't do anything as dangerous as smoking anymore)

I too was suffering from wind buffeting and hated it. I came up with this idea for an air dam. The buffetting is practically none now because it redirects the air flow down instead of hitting the tank and comming up. I always thought that it was just buffetting from over the windshield but no, its an up current of air too.

Someone should market this, if you don't.

I was trying to understand these two adjustments, not realizing that you could adjust the lower (smaller windshield) and tried to look at the Nomad manual posted on this board. I could not open any of the sections/chapters.

I just stuffed an old black deflector off of a 2000 Harley Ultra. the guy claimed he was told his motor would run too hot so he took it off and gave it to me. WTH it works!

Bdog, what did you make the deflector out of? Do you have a pattern or did you just "wing" it?

I'd almost bet you he got out the tape measure and just made one. Am I right John??

BTW have you signed up for the Rally next summer??
I'll be look'in for donations for door prize's. ::) Maybe one or two of those things you have to hold the air cleaner covers on and that you have stuck on your headlight. Or,.... well you get the idea.

LMAO you didn't win everything!!! And I'll make sure you don't win at this rally. Unless you show me the money. I think we should raise some funds for another good cause.

ME!!!

Don't I know it!!! your KawaNOW online name could easily be "moneybags" instead of blowndodge. But that would be like changing the cover on a book. It would still be the same damn book. ;)

BTW have you posted in the poll thread that you'll be at the rally?

That baffel under the head lamp isn't doing anything, it's the head light jewel, sending out anti wind rays that does it all. The system is powered by the vented lower under the rec/regs. Air passes thru these mini turbines and powered up the anti wind ray, so sure it'a No Brainer he could light a cigar.

Don't let B dog fool you....
