Ride from Pittsburg, KS to Antlers

Griz and Mike along with Jesse and Russel, I am starting to look at some routes to head down to Antlers.
As a reminder, last year we went through Grove and picked up scenic hwy 10 down to Tahlequa. Picking up 82 along Tenkiller lake to hwy 100 to Warner and S on 2 to Antlers. 2010 Route

I've looked at a few alternatives including heading down 59/259 all the way down to Broken Bow. Or AR 43. Either of these might make it a bit easier for Russel and Jesse to join.

I'm open to suggestions. I really enjoyed the OK-10 Scenic route between Grove and Tahlequa and definitely wouldn't mind doing it again.
Anyone else interested in joining in is more than welcome. Bill, are you interested in meeting up in Pittsburg again?

I'll throw this out there. I've talked to (e-mailed) 40right aka Dan.
If he doesn't end up having to work we were talking about meeting in Poteau and riding US 271 to Antlers.
If you were to come down 59 we could meet you in Sallisaw. Dan lives there.
Not to speak for Jesse but he could take US 62 from his house and meet you in Westville at the jct of 59 & 62.
From Poteau we could go anyway you wanted.
I'll keep an eye on this thread to see what y'all decide.

Glenn, I also enjoyed last year's route, but I think 59/259 looks like it would be a good trip too. If it makes it easier for Russell, Jesse, Dave and Danny to meet up with us, even better. If you would like to ride Hwy 43, we could turn at Riverton, KS and get on 43 at Joplin and take it down to 59 around Siloam Springs. I really don't care, they all look like good scenic routes.

Just keep us informed. US 43 is a good ride from Joplin to Siloam Springs. OK 59 is a good road although rather uneventfull. It may still be good compared to the roads in Kansas. ::) Siloam Springs is about 30 minutes away, same as Westville.

AR 43 to AR 59 to Van Buren?
We could meet there.
From Van Buren there are a lot of options.

Just thinking outloud ;)

I going along for the ride no matter which route. It's all nice country. I would suggest we have a Plan B - a "bad weather" route planned just in case it is raining like cats and dogs.

That looks good to me. We could still go down 271 to Poteau to meet Dan. We would probably want to plan on lunch around Van Buren or Fort Smith.

Okay, if it's raining cats and dogs, the straightest way from Pittsburg to Antlers is down US-69 to Indian nation turnpike. If we do that, we probably won't be hooking up with any others.

Let's hope we don't need that cause that's the way we always come back.
